Running Bond:
- Bricks are laid in a horizontal pattern with each brick overlapping the one below it.
- One of the simplest and most common types of brickwork.
Stack Bond:
- Bricks are stacked directly on top of each other, creating a strong, simple pattern.
- Often used for decorative purposes.
Flemish Bond:
- Alternating headers (short side of the brick) and stretchers (long side of the brick) are used to create a repeating pattern.
- Offers a visually appealing and strong bond.
English Bond:
- Alternating courses of headers and stretchers are used in a repeating pattern.
- Provides a robust structural bond.
Herringbone Bond:
- Bricks are laid at 45 or 90-degree angles to create a V-shaped pattern.
- Commonly used for decorative pavements and walls.
Diagonal Bond:
- Bricks are laid at a diagonal angle to the face of the wall.
- Adds visual interest to the structure.
Basket Weave Bond:
- Pairs of bricks are laid side by side horizontally and vertically to create a woven pattern.
- Often used for decorative purposes.
Header Bond:
- Only the headers of the bricks are visible on the face of the wall.
- Used for decorative banding or detailing.
Sailor Bond:
- Similar to a running bond, but with alternating courses of full bricks and half bricks.
- Creates a staggered, stepped pattern.
Stretcher Bond:
- Bricks are laid in a single row with all the bricks’ long sides (stretchers) facing the same direction.
- Simple and commonly used in cavity walls.
Dutch Bond:
- Alternating courses of headers and stretchers in a repeating pattern, similar to English bond.
- Headers are centred on stretchers in each course.
English Garden Wall Bond:
- Alternating courses of headers and stretchers, similar to English bond, but with each header centred over the joint between two stretchers.
